Who Went Home On Dancing with the Stars 2015 Tonight? Week 5
This week, Nick Carter joined forces with Witney to conquer the paso doble.
This week, we get a partner swap-a-roo as “The Switchup” shifts celeb and pro pairings for a one-night only engagement.
Maks: It was filled with steps, but there was a disconnect.
Tom Bergeron is back and I’m so sorry to learn of the passing of your father.
At the start of the show, Tom made sure to thank Season 19 champion Alfonso Ribeiro, who filled in for him as DWTS host so that he could see his father in his final days. I think he may have finally gotten the hang of the performance aspect of dancing. Bruno said she is the essence of joy, with precise footwork to boot. Julianne points out that the dances are longer this week, twice as long, in fact. My tip – get grounded. They danced a Disney-inspired Viennese Waltz. Exactly! And then he dances just like he is Prince Charming.
Carrie Ann disagrees and the crowd cheers. Be careful with your chin.
Julianne: It isa handsome partnership. It was youthful and efflorescent with a grace. Bruno called it a metamorphosis, and the couple received a flawless score. That’s okay, because at least he can focus on costuming and makeup, one of his favorite aspects of performing. Mark: “Did you spike the milk?” Then he wants her to spank him and she says she’s going to kiss him full on the mouth. And as promised, Mark got to use props. The judges were split boys against girls as to whether the dance was good or if Hayes was putting too much energy into the waltz.
Carrie Ann: Her best dance AND she s a naughty, sexy silver fox. I don’t know if I hate this song or just this rendition of it, but it seems so wrong for young Hayes.
Scores: 7-7-6-6=26 out of 40. Sure! Her Mom used to listen to them all the time! He’s a regular guy.
Emma interviews that she hopes she gets to dance with Alek but she says not to play it if it’s not him because that would be embarrassing. Bruno is adamant that he turned in a 7. It’s the first routine I didn’t take my eyes off of tonight, and all the judges seem to feel the same way. How will the Aussie Lassie fare with the Russian renegade? She’s really a fearless woman. He wants Alek to let his emotions out more in his dance. And her brother is her Dad’s mini-twin!
Carrie Ann: She loved it. I smiled the entire time.
Aw, man, there’s a spin where Witney definitely didn’t keep her feet on the floor the whole time.
Who do you think WILL be eliminated next? Even as he kept pace with Lindsay’s insanely quick choreography, Carlos still managed to look like he was having a ball on the dance floor. (Is Lindsay insulted by his comments, I wonder?) Initially I’m thinking it’s backfiring and making Alek too nervous during the routine, but the rumba turns out to be graceful and sensual. She does great! A bit rushed at points, but great.
Maks:It was an awesome quickstep. It seems like this might have been the flawless storm for Alexa.
Derek loves the Tango. Sometimes I just don’t see what the judges see.
Carrie Ann: That was a revelation!
Julianne: She had an authenticity tonight.
Andy and Sharna dance an Argentine Tango for their “Switch Up” dance. This week, Andy was the king of power, with a few really hot lifts! This week, Nick’s been paired with perky dynamo Witney. They were praised for their work individually, but knocked when they were in hold.
Wow, I didn’t expect the scores to be that low.
Maksim: This is not my cup of tea. You’re an avenging Hell’s Angel. “You go into character”.
Scores: Carrie Ann: 9, Julianne: 9, Maksim 8, Bruno: 9, total: 35 out of 40.
It’s switch-up night and thus there will be no elimination. At the end of evening, one couple was eliminated from the ballroom competition. Online voting at www.ABC.com and on Facebook at https://apps.facebook.com/votedwts/ is open for 24 hours, beginning from the start of each episode on the East Coast at 8:00pm, ET/5:00pm, PT and closing at 8:00pm, ET/5:00pm, PT on Tuesday evenings.
