Jane The Virgin postmortem: Who’s the new villain?
When Michael returns with Mateo, Jane, despite her condition, runs to him, and as the narrator tells us, it’s happily ever after… but not for long. Last season’s Jane the Virgin finale left us in complete shock; Sin Rostro kidnapping Mateo just hours after his birth was so incredibly hard to take. Mateo’s lost 10 percent of his birth weight, and Jane is having trouble breastfeeding.
“From what I heard, and it’s not about us, there’s going to be two weddings on this season”, said Andrea Navedo, who plays Jane’s mom.
And for a show that thrives on twists, they may have thrown in one twist too many with that final shot of a mystery woman plotting against Jane in a foreign language. What kind of conversations did you have with her about getting into character? She goes through with the plan under the assumption that being pregnant with his child will increase her chances of getting Raphael back, but Scott (Wes Armstrong) is on to her and that could complicate her already bad plan. We care about these characters, especially Jane-which is why our response was so strong when Mateo was kidnapped.
Meanwhile, Gina Rodriguez continued to make Emmy voters look like idiots for not even nominating her a year ago.
Who in the heck could this girl be?
However, it is unclear whether or not she will tie the knot with Michael (Brett Dier) or Rafael (Justin Baldoni). Alba is shocked as Jane is clearly more amused by the situation. No matter what their motives are, they are coming to “get her now” and as the narrator says, a few feel-good theme music would make everyone feel better but it never comes.
We actually used multiple babies in the episode. #Oops. Petra (Yael Grobglas) inseminated herself with Rafael’s second sperm sample, and just when we all thought that might be the craziest thing to occur in “Chapter 23”, the episode’s closing moments revealed that a new sinister character seems to have it out for Jane.
We see Petra before and after she started playing with that now-infamous turkey baster.
The episode closes on a mysterious individual seeing Jane in the headline news and stating that it’s time to go after her. What could that mean?
Targeting U.S. Hispanics by displaying untranslatable moments in their lives, Target’s “Sin Traduccion” campaign debuted in March with placements during the show. Stay up-to-date around for further updates about Jane The Virgin and watching it on CW funnel.
