San Antonio Man Locked in FedEx for Hours
After spending the entire day there he ran into the north-side FedEx store right before 9 p.m., a few minutes before it was going to close. The early closing was new to Galvan, who was already preoccupied with preparations for a fitness competition he was organizing for the next morning and was accustomed to the extended weekday hours.
Galvan went to a 24-hour FedEx to get his printing done and snapped a picture with the employee he had spoken to on the phone.
Employees there got in touch with the store manager who let Chris out around 11:30 at night, more than two hours after he first got trapped.
CrossFit trainer Chris Galvan said he was making some copies at the end of the day when he realized the employees had locked up the store without realizing he was still in there.
“Quite possibly the strangest experience of my life”, he said in a video Tweet.
Taking this as an experience he will never forget, Galvan concluded, “You better make sure that when you go into a store, let them know you’re there”. He passed the time by working out and tweeting out updates under his own hashtag, #FedExPrisoner.
Despite being locked-up, Galvan was able to have his documents printed for free, at the other location that helped his release. “I choose UPS now”, he said.
‘The manager, older Lady who has helped me several times before with different things open the door looked at me very angrily and said, “OUT” while pointing at me and then pointing outside, ‘ Galvan wrote on Facebook.
FedEx did not immediately return requests for comment.
