‘Blindspot’ gets full-season pickup at NBC
NBC has handed out the first back nine pick up of the season, granting a full season order to breakout hit Blindspot, starring Sullivan Stapleton and Jaimie Alexander, TVWise has learned.
Ratings-wise, Blindspot ranks as the number one rated new series among adults 18-49, and over the past three weeks, the show has averaged a 2.7 rating with 9.6 million viewers overall.
Friday’s news doesn’t guarantee the show a second season renewal, but it’s certainly an encouraging sign, particularly when the network makes the news known in a separate press release, which isn’t always the case with back nine orders. After garnering less than 5 million viewers for its first two episodes, “Blindspot” continues to perform as a current top-rated series in the current TV programming. It stars Alexander as Jane Doe, a woman who is found naked in Times Sqauare with her body fully covered in tattoos with no memory of her past. Now, Jane and Kurt works together in solving the mysteries of her past through the tattoos on her body.
The cast also includes Sullivan Stapleton, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Rob Brown, Audrey Esparza, Ukweli Roach, and Ashley Johnson.
“Blindspot” is a production of Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions.
