Tracy Morgan First Time Onstage Since Accident
Morgan delivered a set at The Comedy Cellar in New York Monday, and posted a photo on Twitter with the caption, “My first time on stage in 16 months at the #ComedyCellar!”
The 46-year-old comedian tweeted about his performance at Greenwich Village’s Comedy Cellar to his more than 3 million followers, saying he was “picking up the pieces”.
Morgan also did standup at Manhattan’s The Stand comedy club on Monday night, TMZ reprorts, although recording was strictly prohibited at both.
The “30 Rock” star definitely seems to be getting back to his old self, marrying the woman who stood by his side during the entire rehabilitation process, Megan Wollover, while their 2-year-old daughter looked on. Morgan tweeted after the show at the MacDougal Street club.
The comedian was left with brain trauma and a broken leg and ribs following the incident in June 2014, which happened after a show. The accident killed his mentor James “Jimmy Mack” McNair.
In September, Morgan made an emotional return to Hollywood with an appearance at the Emmys.
“I’m here, standing on my own two feet”, he said from the Emmy stage after receiving a standing ovation. I suffered a traumatic brain injury that put me in a coma for eight days.
“It’s been a long road back”.
Morgan, McNair’s family and the other passengers in the limo van (Ardley Fuqua and Jeffrey Millea) reached an undisclosed settlement with Wal-mart earlier this year.
