Motorola DROID Turbo 2 Is Codenamed “Kinzie”, Coming to Verizon in October
Motorola was more preoccupied to ideal its two phablets (Moto X Pure Edition and Play), but the Moto G third edition is very similar in terms of design, only its specs are much weaker. News about the upcoming Motorola device with the model number XT1585 has surfaced, and the Global Certification Forum has finally certified it. According to the certification, the phone will get TD-LTE support. There are also rumors that the DROID Turbo 2 will be customizable on the Moto Maker website, have a shatterproof display, and be available for order on the Verizon website from the 29th of this month. Motorola and Lenovo have not discussed the launch of the Droid Turbo 2 yet, but sources and insiders believe the handset should be launched by the end of November.
Moto G (2nd gen) comes with 5-inch 720p HD IPS display at 294 ppi with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Both devices are powered by a Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 Quad-core Cortex-A53 processor, but the first model has a higher clock speed of 1.4GHz, outperforming the 1.2GHz processor of the Honor 4X, however, both phones are housing 2GB of RAM, but the Moto G coupled it with 16GB of storage, while the variant with 8GB of storage has half the RAM capacity.
For photography enthusiasts, they will be glad to know that it is fitted with a whopping 20 MP rear-facing camera.
Fresh reports later claimed that the Motorola Moto X Force would be sold as the Droid Turbo 2 in the United States and will be available exclusively on Verizon Wireless. A powerful 3,760 mAh battery cell will apparently drive the rugged device.
The Motorola Droid Turbo 2 will sadly run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box instead of the latest Marshmallow OS. The Droid Turbo 2 release date was originally pegged for October, with a launch event allegedly occuring in India, but those rumors seem to have died down.
