Jeremy Lin hopes Charlotte provides right fit
Christian National Basteball Association star Jeremy Lin has just inked a two-year deal with the Charlotte Hornets, and will start playing for the team in the upcoming 2015-2016 National Basteball Association season.
Newly acquired Charlotte Hornets basketball point guard Jeremy Lin speaks during a news conference at Time Warner Cable Arena, Monday, in Charlotte, N.C.
The former Los Angeles Lakers point guard signed a two-year biennial exemption with the Michael Jordan-owned Charlotte Hornets for $4.3 million, according to the ESPN source as the terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Harvard grad broke into the National Basteball Association with the Golden State Warriors and also spent two seasons with the Houston Rockets after signing a three-year, $25.1 million contract.
Three teams removed from “Linsanity” fame, Lin believes he may have found it with the Hornets.
That’s what Clifford is counting on.
When it comes to Lin training under head coach Steve Clifford, Cho said that he thinks that Lin’s defense will improve with the “defensive-oriented” coach who has a lot of success with other point guards in the past. He led the league in three-pointers made and is now trying to make a name for himself in the National Basteball Association with his shooting. “That has always been the most important thing to me”, he said. The Los Angeles Lakers will open their season on October 29 against the Houston Rockets. “I do think the work I have put in has made me better”.
I know it’s just summer league play, but let’s try to find something positive to talk about to give Hornets fans hope heading into the brief off-season. Lin managed to hold his own and averaged 14.6 points and 6.3 assists in March, but struggled away from the pick-and-roll shot just 41 percent from the field before going down with a small meniscus tear and missing the rest of the season, including the playoffs.
Lin sees that changing next season following the additions of Nicolas Batum, Spencer Hawes and Jeremy Lamb this offseason via trades, and the selection of Frank Kaminsky from Wisconsin in the National Basteball Association draft. He thanked God for always working things out for his good, expressing confidence that God will continue to do so.
