Finish Don Chingon’s Burrito And You’ll Get 10 Percent Of The Restaurant
As you may have surmised, this isn’t just a normal burrito.
Don Chingon recently issued a challenge to customers: Eat a behemoth burrito and gulp down a margarita in one hour or less, and you’ll win a 10 percent stake in the Brooklyn taqueria. And if you don’t make it, you’re still going to have to cough up $150 for the entrance fee and the honor of attempting the challenge in the first place. A few restaurants will put your name on the wall.
Ever wanted to own a restaurant? “We’ll give you the wall”. The burrito weighs 30 pounds and is stuffed with steak, chicken, pork, rice, cheese, beans and salsa.
If you manage to eat such a burrito under those rules, you still aren’t done.
Customers taking on the challenge must also drink a margarita spiked with ghost pepper.
With an average burrito weighing in at about one pound, the accomplishment is probably physically impossible (and Don Chingon will not guarantee anyone’s safety or be held responsible), but one NYC writer tried.
Don Chingon said all participants will receive free T-shirts “regardless of performance during the challenge”. Journalists, apparently. The New York Daily News sent intrepid reporter Gersh Kuntzman to try to tackle the titanic tortilla and he lived to tell the tale.
