Bobby Brown to release autobiography next year
Bobby Brown, former husband of the late Whitney Houston performs at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Conn. Brown is scheduled to turn himself in today, March 20,2013 to begin serving a 55-day jail sentence for DUI.
The My Prerogative singer is penning a book said to be of the same title, and will be available as early as June, so Brown is presumably already hard at work figuring out which pieces of his wide-ranging life will be included in the autobiography.
Bobby Brown is not even close to getting over the trauma of the still-mysterious death of his daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, but writing his “raw and unvarnished” memoir has been therapeutic for the R&B singer. Brown signed on with the publishing company to tell his story in his own words before the death of his daughter, Bobbi Kristina, which happened on July 26.
Dey Street Books announced the book, My Prerogative, on Tuesday saying fans will be highly entertained by his “crazy, exciting, fascinating world”.
He adds that he hopes his “fans and other readers of this book… will feel that I have been as honest and open with them in these pages as I have tried to be my entire life”. USA Today, October 13, 2015, reports that Bobby has been writing his “raw and unvarnished” thoughts down for his upcoming book “My Prerogative”.
The aptly-titled My Prerogative will detail Brown’s music career as a member of the group New Edition and as a solo act, his drug and alcohol abuse and will set the record straight on his marriage to the late great Whitney Houston.
The memoir will be co-written by Nick Chiles.
He has feuded with Houston’s mother, Cissy Houston, who has said Houston would have been better off without Brown and would not have become so “deep” into drugs.
The civil suit, initially filed against Nick while Bobbi Kristina was still alive, has been amended several times to list jarring allegations of physical harm and financial impropriety.
Brown has done only one TV interview, last month, when he and his wife, Alicia Etheredge Brown, appeared on The Real, a syndicated daytime talk show.
