US women’s soccer to play China in victory tour finale
The usa women’s team will play China on December. 16, in an exhibition at the Superdome in New Orleans, for the final game of the Americans’ post-World Cup victory tour.
The match is set to kick off at 8 p.m. ET, and will be broadcasted nationally on Fox Sports 1.
The match against China PR in New Orleans will be a rematch of the quarterfinal at the 2015 Women’s World Cup that was won 1-0 by the U.S. in Ottawa, Canada, on a goal from Carli Lloyd.
Information about tickets will be announced later this year. The coming trip marks the team’s first return to New Orleans since 2003, when the team played at Tad Gormley Stadium.
Holiday announced her retirement from club and country soccer shortly after the World Cup and is already scheduled to play her farewell game October 25th in Orlando against Brazil.
Previous stops on the victory tour included: Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, Pa.; Finley Stadium in Chattanooga, Tenn.; Ford Field in Detroit, Mich.; Legion Field in Birmingham, Ala.
Players for the game in New Orleans have not been confirmed.
