Confirmed: Pepsi To Launch Smartphones In China
A spokeswoman from PepsiCo told Reuters the company will partner with another firm to build the Pepsi phone and its accessories. This is merely a licensing deal, meaning that Pepsi will be officially allowing their partners to use their brand to market mobile phones and accessories.
The Pepsi P1 is a line of mobile phones and accessories that will be launched exclusively in China.
According to their sources, the phone will be called the Pepsi P1, and will feature “decent but not high-end specs”. It’ll have 16GB of built-in storage and 2GB of RAM, and the battery will be measured in at 3000mAh. The Android 5.1 phone (Lollipop) will cost roughly the equivalent of $205 and is set to launch on October 20.
Yesterday, a report surfaced claiming PepsiCo would be releasing its own smartphone in China.
Last week, an interesting bit of information came to light regards a smartphone from Pepsi. That’s right, the famous snack and beverage maker is coming up with its own smartphone dubbed as the Pepsi P1.

GizChina notes that Pepsi has already been in one such partnership before, working with Oppo to include a Pepsi-branded interface on an existing Oppo device rebranded as the “Pepsi Phone”. Somehow, Pepsi could pull this through, and it does happen, you can expect the company to make a bigger statement sometime in future.
Additionally, it only has a few capacitive buttons beneath the screen (back, home, multitasking) and a fingerprint sensor at the back. It was more of a marketing campaign that had Pepsi putting its logo and signature colors on the smartphone.
