Bret Bielema draws penalty with brilliant flop move
In the second quarter, Santos Ramirez intercepted a Jake Coker pass and returned it 18 yards to the Alabama 24.
Robinson was flagged for a personal foul on the play, although it’s not clear whether Bielema’s actions caused the the official to throw the flag.
If Bret Bielema wasn’t already one of the most despised coaches in America, he’s definitely there now. Brewster called him out in an angry postgame confrontation; Bielema shrugged it off, saying he was just doing what the math told him to do.
This time its due to the Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalty he drew during the game on Alabama Offensive Tackle Cam Robinson.
Bielema followed the penalty with an awkward spin and a Tiger Woods-esque fistpump, showing a lot of grace for the big man. The Razorbacks scored the game’s first touchdown three plays later and took a 7-3 lead into the half. The source of the original video is unclear.
In the end, the penalty mattered little – Alabama won 27-14.
Late Sunday night, Pelham (Ala.) High School coach Anthony Jacks posted a clip to Twitter that shows Arkansas coach Bret Bielema going out of his way to make contact with Robinson before flopping backwards.
