Leukemia survivor surprises daughter, walks her down aisle
This is a story of father’s unconditional and endless love.
The only people Ralph Duquette told about his plan were his physical therapists, his caretaker and the wedding’s DJ. While battling cancer, Ralph had to go through extensive chemotherapy, was in a coma for five days, and even went blind in one eye.
Ralph Duquette surprised his daughter Heather by standing up from his wheelchair and walking her down the aisle at her wedding in Maine. But nothing would stop him from walking his little girl down the aisle.
But on October. 10, Ralph Duquette was lifted out of his wheelchair in Old Orchard Beach and did just that – in front of 75 friends and family. But the walk an Old Orchard Beach, Maine, father and daughter taken last weekend stands out among the rest.
After the ideal ceremony, her father surprised her again by being able to do a father-daughter dance with her at the reception.
According to WCSH 6, Duquette practiced walking with physical therapists for weeks and when Heather’s big day came, put his hard work to good use.
