CD Projekt Red has officially announced that the special boxed edition of the “Hearts of Stone” expansion for “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” is facing a few delays in North America. In gaming, the word expansion conjures up images of huge packs of additional content, that often drastically changes the playstyle, or bring with it an entirely new experience. Hearts of Stone on the other hand, is best compared to the DLC “episodes” of games like Fallout 3 and Borderlands – a short, self-contained adventure that simply takes place within the original game’s world. For those who can’t get enough of the base game and are looking for more, Hearts of Stone should be on your top priority list to purchase. Some were just items, but there were a few new quests as well. Just what is Gaunter O’Dimm up to this time? There’s romance, too! It is a Witcher game, after all. Long-time Witcher fans will once again see Shani, in which she becomes a potential love interest of Geralt in this expansion.
Where previously the developers had stated that the next expansion would arrive in early 2016, they now claim it’s aiming for release in the first half of 2016.
According to the official description from the developers, CD PROJEKT RED, the new expansion will, “take Gerald on an all-new adventure into the wilds of No Man’s Land and the nooks and alleys of Oxenfurt, where he’ll try to complete a contract from the mysterious Man of Glass”. Surely you can’t turn your nose up at that.
