Former Texas A&M Footballer Suspected Of Hacking A Jogger
Police say former Texas A&M wide receiver Thomas Johnson has admitted to randomly attacking and killing a man on a Dallas jogging trail. Police also said that Johnson admitted to the crime and even called them from a nearby area after the stabbing. He allegedly hacked a jogger in a Dallas park with a “large-edged” weapon in a fit of rage. He told our homicide detectives that he was angry about a situation and he just picked somebody to murder.
Johnson, 21, as of late had been kicked out of his home, police say. “He just attacked him”.
A witness told a local TV station that he saw someone hacking at a body with a machete to the back of the neck.
Police said the victim wasn’t carrying any identification. “It’s very unusual. It’s quite shocking”. He mysteriously disappeared days after the Aggies’ defeated then-No.
He resurfaced, but never played football again.
Johnson is now in Dallas County Jail, and is being held without bond. He was reported missing on November 14 after last being seen on November 12 and found overnight on November 15 of that year.
As a freshman wideout in 2012, Johnson had three catches in the Aggies’ upset of No. 1 Alabama.
The wideout was an Under Armour All-American coming out of Dallas Skyline High School and was ranked as the No 3 receiver in the United States when he signed with A&M after first committing to play for Texas.
