Marshawn Lynch: Marshawn Lynch ‘should be ready to go’ Week 6
Now Seattle is left wondering whether All-Pro middle linebacker Bobby Wagner will be available when the Seahawks host the undefeated Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
Wagner’s status for Sunday’s game against Carolina is in question – to everyone but Wright, at least – because of a pectoral strain he sustained against Cincinnati.
Coach Pete Carroll said Marshawn Lynch (hamstring) “should be ready to go” Week 6 against the Panthers. Carroll said weak side linebacker K.J. Wright would likely slide inside into Wagner’s spot if Wagner is unable to go. If something happens, it’s all on the middle linebacker. Wagner’s fumble recovery and run for a touchdown is what made the margin so big, but the Seahawks couldn’t finish the job in Cincinnati. The Seahawks also recognized his value and locked up Wagner with a $43 million, four-year contract extension before this season. “I talked to him; he said he seems to be fine”. “I feel like to shine on this defense you really have to be special”. Lynch has missed the past two-and-a-half games with a hamstring injury.
Wright just doesn’t think he’ll have to.
“It’s not too much different. But we’ve got to make it through the week”.
Carroll said Lynch will return to full duty in practice on Thursday and will have his usual workload on Sunday. Carroll said he has no hesitation putting Lynch back in as the starter despite rookie Thomas Rawls rushing for 169 yards last week….
