Community steps up to help beaten Ronan daycare owner
Martha McClure, the owner of Martha’s Mini Daycare in Montana for almost two decades, was watching three children now in the custody of the Department of Tribal Social Services when she was brutally attacked with a shovel in an unsettling act of violence instigated by the children’s biological father.
McClure was minding Jackson’s children, all under the age of four, when Jackson showed up drunk, she told sheriff’s deputies.
Officials said Francis Joseph Jackson, 31, showed up at McClure’s daycare facility with an unidentified woman last week.
The daycare owner, Martha McClure, tells MTN News she is now recovering at home after having eye surgery to fix her orbital socket because of the beating.
McClure was reportedly aware Jackson’s parental rights had been suspended and that Child Protective Services had legal custody, so she took physical action. The girlfriend allegedly struck McClure with the shovel while the inebriated father hit her in the face.
Bell said even though McClure was seriously injured, she protected the children and didn’t let anybody leave with the couple. The suspects then fled. But she said he began throwing toys at the window as he struggled to get back inside, court records said. “I’m responsible for their lives, their safety”.
KERR-AM reports Jackson was arrested in Washington state Monday afternoon. She is not only a loving, caring and very supportive mother but loves every child that is in her care as one of her own.
A judge has signed an arrest warrant for a woman who is accused of hitting a Montana day care owner with a shovel.
He waived extradition Tuesday during a court hearing in Pend Oreille County.
Officers have felony warrants out for Jackson for crimes, including aggravated assault with a weapon charges and custodial interference.
