Man driving motorized wheelchair arrested for DUI, Palm Bay police say
Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Ronny Scott Hicks, was arrested for DUI while operating a motorized wheelchair.
A Florida man was charged with driving under the influence when he blocked traffic by parking his motorized wheelchair in the middle of a bridge. Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Ronny Scott Hicks is seen on February 9, 2015.
Ronny Scott Hicks, 54, was arrested Monday night at Helen Avenue and Margaret Street NE.
Police said Hicks also had slurred speech, would not follow officers’ instructions and refused a breathalyzer test, according to Click Orlando.
Hicks was arrested on a driving under the influence charge and “refused treatment for an open wound”, WKMG reports.
During his first appearance before a judge, the judge approved the maximum $5000 bond, because it was allegedly Hicks third DUI in ten years.
