Bruce Forsyth returning to Strictly Come Dancing to host Children in Need
Selena Gomez will perform Same Old Love during the fundraising night, while Ellie Goulding and Rod Stewart will also treat the audience to their new songs Army and Way Back Home, respectively. To mark the return of BBC Children in Need, the Charity is asking supporters to dress up as their childhood hero.
Sir Bruce hosted Strictly for a decade until he stepped down a year ago.
Tess Daly has revealed “Strictly Come Dancing” contestants who are gripped by stage fright will be offered two chances to perform on that night’s show or face elimination.
Sir Terry Wogan, who has hosted the special every year since 1980, will be joined by Fearne Cotton, Nick Grimshaw and Rochelle Humes.
Jenny Agutter, Laura Main, Stephen McGann and Jack Ashton from BBC One series Call the Midwife will take to the dance floor to compete for the coveted Pudsey Glitter Ball trophy and raise money for various children’s charities.
In addition to music stars, big names from the West End will be performing, including the casts of handsome, Kinky Boots and Bend It Like Beckham.
Last year’s Children In Need televised telethon raised more than £32.6 million for various charities and saw performances from One Direction, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and a newly reformed S Club 7. You can imagine the difference that has made to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.
Shane Richie, 51, will be returning to “EastEnders” for a sing-a-long while comedian Harry Hill will give his take on the history of TV and ‘The One Show presenters Alex Jones and Matt Baker will be doing a Ricky Horror show.
The Children in Need special will air on Friday 13 November at 7:30pm on BBC One.
Sir Terry said: “We are looking forward to a mind-blowing evening of great entertainment on behalf of a great charity”.
