Nintendo/DeNA Mobile Game Announcement Coming Soon; Deal May Last Beyond Five
The first of Nintendo’s new smartphone games that it’s making in collaboration with DeNA will be announced “soon”.
Nintendo partnered with mobile game and back-end creator DeNA earlier this year.
But the news have been pretty thin since the announcement.
Nintendo has announced it will reveal its mobile games plan “soon”, with its first forays still due by the end of the year.
Asako also added that he “can’t say too much about the Nintendo deal”. Nintendo is handling development of the software while DeNA will handle the online infrastructure.
It was already announced that the first game would be announced before 2015 concluded so this is hardly a surprise.
Asasko went on to say that their deal may extend beyond the original goal for all five Nintendo/DeNA games to be on mobile by March 2017.
VentureBeat points out that Asako really means long-term partnership because of the deal made between the two companies. Last week, Dr. Serkan Toto hinted on Twitter that the announcement was forthcoming very soon based on insider information.
It would seem that both companies are looking to be working together for the long run, especially with the shift in gaming to mobile.
