PTI should learn to accept defeat, avoid confrontation: Nisar
He said that he himself investigated the allegation related to the transfer of voters from one constituency to another and enlisting of a new voters list for the NA-122 during the last 36 hours but did not find any such wrongdoing on the part of the Nadra officials.
“It is not the domain and mandate of Nadra to change the constituency of any voter without an application and consent of the voter”.
He said the government provided all facilities [in the by-elections] as demanded by the PTI chief Imran Khan. “Not a single vote was removed or changed after August 26”, he said, and added that 25,929 votes were, instead, added to the NA-122 voter lists. He said that PTI is leveling allegations even after all of their demands have been fulfilled.
Ch Nisar Ali Khan reiterates that govt determined to timely complete the projects launched in cooperation with China.
Talking to the Chinese Ambassador who called on him here at the Punjab House, the interior minister said that those who were opposing the CPEC couldn’t see this region and especially Pakistan marching towards a new era of socio-economic prosperity. The interior minister said that NADRA is not authorised to make any amendments to votes on its own and any such permission can only be granted by the Election Commission of Pakistan. “Nadra automatically sends information to the ECP of all voters who attain the age of 18 years”, he said. He said the ministry was not bound to reach aforementioned institutions through Defence Ministry.
Answering another question, Ch. Nisar said during Prime Minister’s visit to United States a heavy agenda is expected to be discussed.
The Minister told a questioner that 16,300 personnel of armed forces and law-enforcing agencies would perform security duties in the country during Moharram.
