Sergio Aguero Signals He Is Likely Out of Manchester United Derby Clash
Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has revealed he wants to be coached by Pep Guardiola in the future, according to the Daily Mirror.
Sadio Mane (7.9M) – Southampton: Enjoying a breakout season, Mane has been on a tear over the last three weeks.
Aguero wasn’t the only player to come out of the worldwide break unscathed.
It will be intriguing to see how City cope in terms of firepower in Aguero’s absence, with the departures of Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic leaving Manuel Pellegrini’s side rather light up front.
City slumped to defeats by West Ham and Tottenham but the players headed into the global break full of confidence following their 6-1 victory over the struggling Magpies.
Raheem Sterling is another option to fill in at striker, which Pellegrini has hinted at earlier in the campaign.
To make matters worse they have also lost influential playmaker David Silva, who was hurt playing for Spain.
Before he picked up a serious knee injury, Callum Wilson was one of the top-scorers in the Premier League, netting five of their 10 goals so far in the top flight, but he will miss the next six months.
Yet despite this similar level of attacking involvement, Sterlng is said to be having a quieter time, retaining a wide starting position and working in both directions for the team, which helps create more central space for the likes of Silva and De Bruyne to operate.
Now more than ever, players will need to step up and leadership needs to be a priority.
Aguero, who misses Argentina’s qualifier away to Paraguay on Wednesday, could miss up to seven City games and is set to sit out the Manchester derby on October. 25, plus potentially both Champions League ties against Sevilla.
