Wille Nelson, Merle Haggard concert rescheduled
While the nature of Nelson’s illness is unknown, the fact that he’ll return to the road on Sunday, October 18th, suggests he is doing well.
Willie Nelson and Family and Merle Haggard were scheduled to kick off their “Django and Jimmie Tour” tonight in Florence, South Carolina, but the show has been postponed due to illness.
Nelson and Haggard’s 2015 Django and Jimmie Tour, in support of a new album featuring the outlaw duo, was scheduled to begin Thursday in South Carolina, according to the report.
The 82-year-old Nelson has been very dependable and remained mostly healthy over the last decade, despite a very intense touring schedule.
The Civic Center told NashvilleGab.com that Nelson’s condition is not-life threatening, but will require several weeks to recover.
In a second Facebook post, also from Wednesday, Lukas Nelson writes, “In other news, thanks for the prayers and love for Dad”.
The Florence show has now been rescheduled to April 6, 2016. “Get well soon Willie, we can’t wait to see you in April alongside Merle Haggard”.
The Florence and Roanoke shows have been rescheduled; no announcement has been made regarding a makeup date in Reading.
