Bernie Sanders danced to ‘Disco Inferno’ during his Ellen DeGeneres interview
If he were a Ben and Jerry’s ice cream flavor, Sanders would be “Bern, Bernie Bern.” .
The Democratic presidential candidate is seen in preview clips from Thursday’s episode of “Ellen” dancing his way onto his first daytime talk show appearance before sitting down for a chat with DeGeneres.
“I’ve never run a negative political ad in my entire life and I’ve been attacked a lot”, Sanders said.
“If you had to pick a Republican presidential candidate to be stuck on a deserted island with, who would it be?” “I don’t know if I’ve ever had an ice cream that burns”. “Yes”, he said, before quickly adding, “I don’t know exactly what you mean by that”.
“Marco Rubio. He’s used to the sun”, Sanders replies matter-of-factly. “All right, let’s call it a civil-rights demonstration”, DeGeneres quipped. She also asked Sanders who had the better hairstyle – himself or Donald Trump? He pointed to his cranium, obviously.
And his favorite member of teen boy band sensation One Direction? . With a little help from the audience, “Harry”, he answered.
DeGeneres also gave him a present – a mobile fold-out lectern in a brief case.
“So you have multi billionaires right now contributing money to candidates and what these candidates are doing at the behest of the billionaires is saying lets cut social security”, he continued.
Mr. Sanders attempted a few John Travolta-style finger pointing moves as strode onto the set to the disco classic “Burn, Baby, Burn!” – an apparent play on the Sanders’ campaign slogan “Feel the Bern”.
