Police identify latest woman murder victim in Chillicothe
A woman police say was killed and then hung by her sleeve from a fence in Chillicothe, Ohio, has been identified as 31-year-old Rebecca Cade, the Dayton Daily News reports.
Cade’s body was found Tuesday.
Earlier Wednesday a judge ordered 27-year-old Donnie Cochenour Jr. held on $2 million bond after he pleaded not guilty to a charge of murder in Cade’s death.
As of yet, police say they have not linked Cochenour to any deaths or disappearances of other women in Chillicothe.
Rutherford said Cochenour admitted to being in a physical altercation with the victim in the area where her body was found. Rutherford said a few of Cochenour’s clothes were found near the scene and they were covered in blood.
The female’s name was not released because positive identification had not been made, police said during a press conference Tuesday.
Those new details came out during a bond hearing for Cochenour in Chillicothe Municipal Court, where he faces a single count of murder.
Schmidt said Cochenour was previously charged with felonious assault in years past.
Police also said the case “does not appear to be linked to any other current investigation being conducted locally”.
