Doom multiplayer closed alpha sign-ups now available
You’ve come here for a reason. If you haven’t already then Bethesda is urgin people to head to the Wolfenstein website and redeem the codes.
Relentless demons, impossibly destructive guns, and fast, fluid movement provide the foundation for intense, first-person combat – whether you’re obliterating demon hordes through the depths of Hell in the single-player campaign, or competing against your friends in numerous multiplayer modes. While there hasn’t been an official date set for the DOOM Closed Alpha Test, its said to be a test period created to stress the game’s dedicated server infrastructure. The beta and final game will of course expand on all the content.
At the event Bethesda announced that they would be holding many tests before the launch of the game, one of which is a Closed Alpha that every Wolfenstein: New Order owner can try and get into.
One Map: Heatwave – This industrial-themed map will place players in an arena setting featuring plenty of armor, ammo, and health pickups.
It will feature one map – Heatwave – which encourages varying playstyles with narrow corridors and open areas alike.
This is not to be confused with the beta that will be made available for those who pre-ordered Wolfenstein: The New Order on or before 26th May, 2014.
The only mode available will be 6v6 team deathmatch. The former will transform one player into the overpowering baddy of the same name, granting them access to a jetpack and dual rocket launcher for a limited time. It’s recommended to be used against a demon, as it has very limited ammo.
Meanwhile, you will have to follow the series of steps in the above tweet to ensure that your are eligible to be selected for the closed alpha. The latter is the flawless counter-weapon: a gun that disassembles demons in one shot, and boasts an alternate fire mode for picking out targets through walls. Once it’s out of shells you’ll have to wait for it to reappear on the map.
The Closed Alpha will feature a limited arsenal of weapons and items featured in the complete game.
