Nisar dismisses PTI’s claim of vote transfer in NA-122
The minister further said that on the behest of PTI, the Judicial Commission (JC) was formed, the army was deployed in the constituencies where by-elections were being held, and CCTV cameras were also installed.
Talking during a press conference, Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan dismissed the claims of rigging by PTI.
He advised PTI Chief Imran Khan to stay away from politics of confrontation, adding it was not in favour of Pakistan. Chaudhary Nisar criticized PTI and wondered aloud as to what brand of politics the party is practicing.
He also presented the figures of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to explain that voters lists were continuously being updated till August 26, the day ECP announced the schedule of local bodies elections.
The interior minister went on to say that NADRA is not authorised to make any amendments to votes on its own and any such permission can only be granted by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
NADRA is not a PML-N’s institution rather it is a national institution, Nisar said and urged PTI leader not to discredit national institutions.
Answering a question, Nisar said that NADRA has no role in vote transfer but it is only concerned with addition of new voters in the lists.
The minister for interior on Wednesday said that he had direct contacts with the General Headquarters (GHQ) and did not need the Ministry of Defence in this regard.
He said Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is actively working on all its cases and termed the verdict of Apex Court on EOBI case as positive.
Regarding Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s upcoming visit to the USA, he said PM will also raise the issue of RAW involvement in Pakistan during his visit to the United States.
