Obama celebrates American music with ‘eclectic bunch’

“A Celebration of American Creativity: In Performance at the White House” will be the fifteenth “In Performance at the White House” program during President Barack Obama’s administration.
In his remarks, Obama quoted Guy: “In America, we turn life into lyrics”.
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) repeated a campaign trail mantra: He respects Obama, but instead of attempting to compromise with Republicans in Congress, the next president has to spark a “political revolution” and invoke the will of the people.

Press Secretary Josh Earnest said Obama plans to watch the debate, but admitted that he may not watch the entire event. “If and when he decides to become a presidential candidate, he’ll have to more clearly articulate his own personal views”. “You just learn to pick yourself up”.
Mrs. Obama welcomed local students to the White House Wednesday as she hosted a music workshop with Smokey Robinson, Esperanza Spalding, MC Lyte, Trombone Shorty and Keb’ Mo’.
President and CEO of WETA, Sharon Percy Rockefeller will be joining in as a co-producer for the special expressed her excitement, “It is a great privilege to join the White House in honoring the importance of humanities and arts to our nation’s culture”. On a policy level, she said she hopes to “build on the successes of President Obama, but also, as I’m laying out, to go beyond”.
The latest concert also marked the first hip-hop performance in the broadcast series with MC Lyte, a female rap pioneer.
