BMW launches M badge X5 and X6 in India
The both X5 M and X6 M come with a V8 petrol engine which produce a max power of 575 hp and a max torque of 750 Nm between 2200-5000 rpm.
Announcing the launch of two high end SUVs with a starting price of Rs.1.6 crore, BMW India on Thursday indicated that it was contemplating rolling out models at the low end of the luxury segment, a move that comes as a consequence of flexible local production and profitable growth curve the company achieved in the recent past in India.
The German carmaker’s other performance cars include the M3 sedan and M4 coupe. The cars accelerate from 0to 100 km per hour in 4.2 seconds and have a top speed of 250 km per hour (electronically limited). Transmitting power to all four wheels through the xDrive four wheel drive system is an 8-speed M specific steptronic transmission (with paddle shifters). Both models will be sold in India as direct imports.
The BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M will have the combined characteristics of the BMW X series and the M range of cars.
The M derivatives differ from their respective civilized siblings by means of a sportier front bumper with sharper elements and larger air intakes, the signature M badging on the kidney grille, mean looking M wing mirrors, skirts, 20-inch five twin-spoke alloy wheels, front fender vents and rear apron with reflectors.
The all-new BMW X5 M is priced at R1.55 crore and the all-new BMW X6 M is priced at R1.60 crore (ex-showrooms India).
