Two vehicles exchange gunfire in Surrey
A 22-year-old man was injured when shots were fired near Strawberry Hill Elementary on September 15, leading to charges against two men though no arrests were made until Thursday.
This time it was a shootout between two vehicles in the 11000 block of 142 A street.
A man identified as a suspect in a shooting a month ago has been arrested.
Surrey RCMP said that when an officer tried to stop a red Ford Mustang at around 2 a.m.in the area of 146th Street and 76th Avenue, the vehicle drove off and fled northbound on 146th Street.
Samra, along with Shakiel Singh Basra, were both wanted and charged with attempted murder and other weapon offences.
Multiple police units were dispatched to the scene, including Police Dog Services and, as a result, two persons believed to be the driver and passenger were arrested and taken into custody.
Surrey RCMP is still appealing to the public for information on the whereabouts of Shakiel Basra, the outstanding suspect in that shooting.
Basra is described as 6’3, 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
Police are speaking to people in the neighbourhood and asks anyone with information about the shooting or the suspects’ vehicles to call 604-599-0502 or CrimeStoppers.
