Man shot outside Cowboys stadium after Patriots game dies
Sells died on Wednesday night, according to Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office records.
The man shot in the AT&T Stadium parking lot after Sunday’s game between the Dallas Cowboys and the New England Patriots has died, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported. His family said in a statement posted on Facebook that he was taken off life support.
Witnesses say that Marvin Rodriguez, 28, pointed the gun at one man involved in the fight, then turned to Sells and shot him in the neck.
“Today my mother and his family are going to go say our final goodbyes to the greatest man I’ve ever known”, said Gunning.
The victim’s family spoke exclusively with CBSDFW.COM on Wednesday.
Rodriquez was arrested outside the stadium Sunday.
Sells was engaged and expecting a daughter according to a GoFundMe page which appears to have been taken down. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury, charges that are expected to upgraded in the wake of Sells’ death. He was in the Arlington jail with bail set at $200,000.
