Watch ‘School of Rock’ Musical’s Innovative, Interactive Music Video
Composer and producer Andrew Lloyd Webber has released a music video for “You’re in the Band”, a number from his upcoming Broadway show School of Rock – The Musical.
Andrew Lloyd Webber has produced the world’s first 360 degree video for his new “School of Rock – The Musical”.
“It’s happening all around you, all in one go”. It’s all in one take, you can’t edit it because everybody is always in a different position. The goal with this video was to create a fun way to be more engaged with the content and give you an experience closer to that of the stage production. This video makes full use of the new 360° technology, letting viewers access all the walls of the classroom while rocking out to the sick beat and insane guitar riffs. It is best viewed on YouTube or Facebook – on mobile using the latest version of each app; and on desktop using the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox or Opera browsers.
While School of Rock – The Musical will officially open at Broadway’s Winter Garden Theatre on December 6th, the music video itself was filmed in a real New York City classroom.
The musical is based on the film of the same name and is directed by Laurence Connor.
“School of Rock – The Musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed wannabe rock star who decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school”, a synopsis said.
The show features music by Lloyd Webber, with lyrics by Glenn Slater and a book by Julian Fellowes.
Tickets for School of Rock – The Musical are available by visiting the Winter Garden Theatre box office, online at Telecharge.com, or by calling 800-447-7400.
WARNER BROS. RECORDS will release the “Original Broadway Cast Recording for School of Rock – The Musical” on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4th on the eve of opening night.
