Warriors C Andrew Bogut suffers broken nose in win over Rockets
A collision with Rockets swingman K.J. McDaniels has resulted in a broken nose for Andrew Bogut.
Three games in Southern California to close out the season – two against the Lakers and one against the Clippers – starting Saturday in San Diego vs. the Lakers.
Bogut said after the game that he will have surgery on Friday or Saturday to fix the injury, per TNT’s David Aldridge. The dunk missed but McDaniels’ forearm clobbered Bogut across the nose, after which he crashed to the floor. In fact, he hasn’t even played 70 games during a single campaign since appearing in 78 back in 2007-08. The Warriors shot 72 percent from the field over the first two periods, and their 48-point second quarter pushed the Dubs’ point total north of 80 points before play resumed in the third period. His numbers were similar in the postseason, although his scoring average went down to 4.7 points per game. He scored on alley-oop dunks off passes from Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry. If any team is equipped to handle it, though, it is Golden State. At this point it’s unknown if this will cost Bogut time on the court (I doubt it).
