Bautista’s bat flip right at home this postseason

Since Major League Baseball doesn’t pick an MVP for the Divisional Series, I figured we should have a little poll to pick our own Blue Jays ALDS MVP, so let’s have a poll.

Left-handed ace David Price will start Game 2, followed by young righty Marcus Stroman and veteran knuckleballer R.A. Dickey. The Cubs lost Game 1 to St. Louis and won the next three, culminating in Tuesday’s 6-4 win at Wrigley.

The Mets and Cubs are this year’s playoff darlings.

Kansas City stroke through the deteriorated foundation of the Astros pitching staff while Cueto´s performance captivated everyone around behaving as if the entire evening belonged to him. The Blue Jays rallied from a seven-run deficit with an eight-run sixth in the series finale on July 12, only to lose 11-10….

Then in the seventh inning, Oscar felt good and really laid into his ghost swing from the nosebleed seats where he and his family, from Barrie, Ont., was sitting – and Bautista delivered with the historic home run.

That’s why the Royals intend to pitch the Blue Jays inside, to mitigate their power. He earned a win with a three-inning relief stint in Game 4 at Texas….

The Royals and Blue Jays already have played a contentious set of games this season, including a matchup in Toronto marked by two bench-clearing incidents. He did have the dropped ball in game two, but he had a couple of nice catches as well. His status for the ALCS was unclear.

“I think you just see so much drama at times because it’s the postseason”, Blue Jays shortstop Troy Tulowitzki said.

Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said Thursday that the rotation will allow all the starters to get their required rest before they throw.

Major League Baseball will review security at Toronto’s Rogers Centre in an effort to prevent a repeat of the fan disturbance during Game 5 of the Blue Jays’ AL Division Series win over Texas. The 2001 Yankees also did it against Oakland, and the 2012 Giants did it against Cincinnati. Toronto scored four runs in the bottom of the inning and went on to win 6-3. And of course, the winners seem a lot more tolerant than the losing players.

“We all know Toronto is a better team than Houston”.

Royals: The defending AL champions went 11-17 in September before holding off the Blue Jays for home-field advantage throughout the postseason…. “We’re going to stay with the plan and do it. Like I said, do our best to win the game”.

Royals manager Ned Yost was one word more succinct: “Absolutely”. Despite spending more than $780 million on payroll in the last three years, the Dodgers have not reached the World Series since winning the title in 1988.
