Son charged in father’s stabbing death
Halton Police have now laid a murder charge after a stabbing incident at a home in Burlington.
Halton Regional Police responded to a 9-1-1 call at a residence around 10:32 p.m. on Guelph Line.
Officers found 62-year-old Wesley Nagel suffering serious injuries.
The victim’s son, 32-year old Nigel Robert Nagel, was taken into custody at the scene. He’s now charged with second degree murder.
Police say the men know each other, but are releasing no other details at this time.
A couple of neighbours the Post talked to this morning said they hadn’t heard or seen anything out of the ordinary last night in the vicinity of the older red brick bungalow where the death occurred.
“I thought, oh I wonder where on Guelph Line?” she said.
Family members of the victim are still being notified.
The 32-year-old man will appear in court for a bail hearing Friday.
Anyone with information regarding this deadly stabbing should call the Homicide Unit at 905-825-4777 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
