‘Back to the Future II’ Predicted Cubs Win 2015 World Series
Next week will also see a brand new Blu ray release to document the movie’s pearl anniversary which will include Doc Brown starring in a brand new short to mark the occasion. “Maybe it’ll happen. We’ll see”, he says. In 1908 the Chicago Cubs beat the Detroit Tigers in the series. With that science fiction possibly becoming fact, Christopher Lloyd, 76, who portrayed one of the film’s stars, want to be on the field if the Cubs make it to the big game!
Shot by co-founder Bobby Hundreds at the Universal Studios back lot, the lookbook is set at Marty McFly’s Hill Valley home and the Twin Pines Mall.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Christopher Lloyd seems to be keen to leave the door ajar, saying “I would love to do Doc again, no question”. And though there was supposed to be a Back To The Future musical opening in London this year, the production has been delayed to 2016, according to the Den of Geek.
When it hit theaters in 1989, no one suspected that Back to the Future II would correctly predict the world of 2015. Fox really does look like the old-version of himself in the film, so they surely got that right.
The film was able to correctly guess that 3D movies and fingerprint technology would be available today.
Asked if he would throw out the first pitch should Chicago make it to the World Series, Lloyd simply stated.
But as any devout child of the 80’s will tell you, we’re coming up on a specific, important day in our handsome, chrome future-world: October 21, 2015, the day Marty McFly arrived in the future in the iconic Back to the Future Part II.
