OnePlus to Unveil the new X Phone on October 29
The upcoming OnePlus smartphone has accidentally been been listed on the Amazon India website, suggesting that the final marketing name of the device will be OnePlus Mini, and not OnePlus X.
According to a post on the official Twitter account of the China-based company, OnePlus will be having an event on october 29, tagged as the #PowerfullyBeautiful event.
In addition, the teaser came after a mysterious unannounced OnePlus smartphone, with the model E1005, was spotted earlier this week, in filings with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), The Verge reported.
Rumors have it that Chinese startup company is gearing up to unveil “OnePlus X” speculated to be the “OnePlus Mini” on October 29. The OnePlus X is expected to carry a US$250 price tag, which would come off as cheap considering the specifications being speculated at the moment. The leaked specs for the OnePlus X aren’t the latest, but honestly, it’ll be plenty for the usual assortment of web browsing, messaging, watching videos and playing casual games.
KitGuru Says: OnePlus has become a very popular company, very quickly, which is largely down to its approach to smartphone pricing. If this is indeed the new smartphone by OnePlus, it will be its second smartphone release for this year. The rear panel reveals a noticeably different camera housing, and a single LED flash mounted beneath the lens. Either way the OnePlus X should be a pretty good deal. A blog post on OnePlus’ Chinese-language site also confirmed a similar event in Beijing. OnePlus will also be equipping it with a fingerprint sensor.
Using the function users can launch apps or the device camera application by touching the left-side of the screen. There’s nothing in the documents about what platform the phone will run, though it’s probably a safe bet it will be OxygenOS, a customized version of Android built by OnePlus.
