Justin Forsett: Likely game-time decision
A day after making nine roster moves, the Ravens claimed free agent running back Raheem Mostert and placed second-year running back Lorenzo Taliaferro (foot) on injured reserve. The injuries have not helped the team get things going and now they are down a running back with Taliaferro done for the season.
Allen had a 44-yard run last week; he’s run 26 times for 124 yards in all. Forsett is dealing with an ankle injury and John Harbaugh said this week that Forsett has a “good chance” to play in Week 6. He has played in one NFL game where he was used as a kickoff returner. After getting off to a bit of a slow start, Forsett has turned it on lately by averaging 135.5 rushing yards per game over his last two contests.
Forsett did not practice today and the Ravens could enter Sunday’s game with Allen and Mostert as the top running backs when they travel to face the San Francisco 49ers this week.
But late in that game, Taliaferro tweaked the same foot he sprained to land him on injured reserve in December 2014. In the three games that Taliaferro was active for the Ravens, he had 13 rushes for 47 yards and a single touchdown. Mostert spent training camp with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he rushed for 157 yards on 39 carries in the preseason.
