Simon Cowell calls X Factor contestant Mason Noise a ‘complete asshole’
“Mason, you know what?” Do not tell me how long you need to have on this show.’ Who does he think he’s?
Following his exit, he said of the show: “They aren’t fair to a lot of people”.
In Simon Cowell’s continued attempts to boost X Factor viewing figures, it’s been alleged that the show is going to bring in iconic music acts as guest judges each week.
Angering the panel, Simon snaps back: ‘What gives you the right to say that?’ No, things didn’t turn disastrous until after the performance, when Mason launched into a tirade about how his audition performance was cut down to 47 seconds.
“Mason, you know what? Why don’t you shut up?!”, Cowell said, while the other contestants got more and more uncomfortable on stage.
“I’ve got something to say”. “You are being a complete a******e”. Someone to wake me up and stir me out of a James Bay-induced semi TV coma, which is why Fourth Power and their lovely bounciness were also a highlight of Sunday’s show. “If you’ve got a problem, then just go”.
Boos erupted around Wembley’s SSE Arena as Noise argued with Cowell. “Well then, go”, Cowell ordered.
“I think the British people will fall in love with you”, he added.
This is achieved by granting one seat to a contestant on stage if they are considered good enough. I realize Mason Noise probably wasn’t the world’s next musical genius, but this could have turned out so much better: he was different and sparky, which would be welcome in a few weeks in a sea of earnestness and ballads and Big Band Week grins and blonde cuffs.
With Mason out of the running, once all was said and done, Ben Clark, Che Chesterman, Josh Daniel, Simon Lynch, Tom Bleasby and Seann Miley Moore had a seat and are now through to judges’ houses. “You are phenomenal vocally”. “I think that you are phenomenal”. He ruined it because he was so talented – but it helped me because I thought he was pretty good competition.
The only girl group who’ve really made an impression are Filipino sisters 4th Power.
Remaining groups, Bekln and Silvertone, will perform next week in hopes of stealing a seat from the acts already on stage.
