Riders Trade RB Jerome Messam to Calgary Stampeders
The Ticats did make a move just before the 4 p.m. trade deadline, however, acquiring Canadian defensive back Mike Edem from Montreal in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2016 CFL Draft and a conditional seventh-round pick in 2017. The Riders also included a fifth round pick in the draft as part of the deal.
Glenn, a native of Detroit, has now played for every CFL team except the Edmonton Eskimos.
Edem, 26, has played in four games with Montreal in 2015, collecting three special teams tackles.
Hamilton travels to Montreal on Sunday.
The Alouettes were desperate for a starting quarterback after rookie Rakeem Cato suffered a concussion in a 25-17 loss to Toronto on Monday.
“It can only help us”, Green said of Glenn’s arrival.
“Nothing worries me”, said Glenn, in his 15th CFL season.
“We’ll certainly anticipate his skill set and know the things he has strengths in. And because he’ll get mad if I don’t say it, yes he is my favourite receiver”.
Popp said he is not giving up on his young quarterbacks, but hopes having Glenn as the starter this year and probably next will give them time to develop.
Glenn completed 171-of-257 passes for 2,174 yards with nine TDs and 10 interceptions this season with the Riders (2-13), who have been eliminated from playoff contention in the West Division.
