Radiohead’s next record is creeping along — but still not done
The whole translation incident kicked off when effect Of Sound reported on a recent interview Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood gave to Russia’s Radio Silver Rain, in which a translator said the muso had revealed Radiohead “have finished recording of the new album” and have planned a 2016 tour. He’s got a new Radiohead album to finish!
“Lots has been recorded”, he said of the new record, explaining that the band was “about to go through it all to see if it’s any good”.
It’ll be their first album since The King of Limbs was released in 2011 and also, according to drummer Phil Selway, the first Radiohead album to possibly include outside collaborators. And we HOPE to tour next year: no plans confirmed yet.
It’s time to restart the Radiohead rumor mill. “Sorry for the over enthusiastic translator…” The album was put on hold after the band took a break and pursued other projects following an extensive world tour of their last album.
Johnny has also been busying himself with a new album of his own – ‘Jujun’ – in India with Israeli composer Shye Ben Tzur.
Back in September, the British band reportedly spent the whole month of September recording their ninth studio LP. They were best known for their songs Creep, Karma Police and No Surprises.
