Rubio Says America Needs A ‘New Generation Of Leaders’
While in the Senate, Rubio has voted multiple times against legislation that would have increased the minimum wage – including a measure that called for vaulting the minimum wage to $10.10 by 2016. Rubio is the only candidate on either side with an achievable and meaningful plan to reform higher education.
The rally saw more than 200 people show up in support of the Republican candidate, who spent six years of his childhood in Southern Nevada.
“He could be on the ticket, but I think his immigration policy is going to hurt him among voters”, says the former chairman of the Republican Party of Texas.
The senator said there are good people at the Department of Veterans Affairs, but a lot of them aren’t doing their jobs. I think he’s mistreating the people of Kentucky. We made the mistake in a few point in our history of telling young Americans those jobs are for the kids who aren’t smart enough to go to college.
The rally continued with Rubio discussing his takes on taxes, the national debt and Social Security, saying that, if elected, his policies will right the ship.
“Today, the federal government is failing at (protecting the citizens)”, he said.
“Back in 2012, the competition that Romney faced was actually stronger than what Hillary [Clinton] faces right now”, said Ford O’Connell, a Republican strategist who worked on John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign. “Whether it’s opposing a raise in the minimum wage or giving tax breaks to millionaires, Marco Rubio continues to prove he’s against working families”, Jessica Mackler, the president of the progressive American Bridge group, said in a statement.
“His speech was great”, DiGiorgio said afterwards. “He can bring that conservative message into new communities and especially reach out to Millennials and Latinos”.
Roughly 300 Republican donors and fundraisers packed a Manhattan fundraiser for Sen.
Rubio’s campaign manager Terry Sullivan and two top advisers to Adelson, Rob Goldstein and Patrick Dumont, were said to have been present at the meeting. There is nothing before this country that we do not have within us to face.
