Judge refuses to throw out defamation suit against Cosby
Attorney Gloria Allred, representing accuser Judy Huth, said she will give a brief statement Saturday in Boston on Cosby’s testimony under oath.
At the club, she says Cosby served them alcohol before forcing her to perform a sex act at the Playboy mansion. Huth will be deposed on Thursday, her lawyer said. The judge sealed the deposition for at least 60 days until December 22 when he will hear both sides and make a decision on if any parts of the deposition will be made public.
A judge on Wednesday denied a request by Cosby’s attorneys to dismiss the lawsuit filed by Judy Huth, who alleges in her court papers that she has suffered “psychological damage and mental anguish” throughout her life, but only recently discovered the problems were “caused by the sexual abuse perpetrated by Cosby”. Charlotte Fox came back from the bathroom during a jazz show she was seeing with Cosby, had a few sips of her drink, and woke up in an unfamiliar bed. “And so we have a longer period of time, a longer period of statute of limitations for a lawsuit to be pursued in California for a person who alleges she is an adult survivor of child sexual abuse”.
As a result of his ruling, Cosby will have to face off against lawyer Gloria Allred in a deposition, the details of which won’t be released to the public until late December.
More than four dozen women have accused Cosby of assaulting them sexually, often after plying them with alcohol or drugs.
According to Dateline, Cosby and his attorneys had no comment on Friday’s interview special.
