Harrison Ford Makes First Appearance Since Accident
It was Ford’s first public appearance since his March plane crash, which left him with a broken leg. Abrams, producer and Lucasfilm genius Kathleen Kennedy, and legendary screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan.
Just a few months removed from that emotionally overwhelming second teaser trailer, we get more footage of “Star Wars, Episode VII: The Force Awakens” thanks to Comic-Con 2015, though most shows action from behind-the-scenes.
With Comic Con in full swing this week we are all waiting patiently for the next big reveal in the world of cinema and sci-fi.
In other news, Disney confirmed that Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be followed in 2017 by an eighth Star Wars film, now untitled. Affleck showcased the trailer for Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice, where he plays the Dark Knight. “It’s Star Wars. I burn for Star Wars“, he says, although it’s hard to tell whether he’s referring to his passion for the franchise or the UAE temperatures. During a particularly tender moment, Hamill, sitting on set and sporting some very Obi Wan Kenobi facial hair, wistfully explains to the camera, “You’ve been here, but you don’t know this story”.
“It should’ve felt ridiculous”, Ford said. Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher attended and everyone had a blast, along with director J.J.
Also on hand was Adam Driver, who will take on the role of the film’s villain – the mysterious three-pronged lightsaber-wielding Kylo Ren. “I was very gratified when I read the script, because I read something that I thought was really remarkable”.
Fans who camped outside the San Diego Convention Center were treated to a behind-the-scenes making of “The Force Awakens” as well as a surprise concert after the Hall H panel.
“I never thought that we would do another”, Ford said.
