Hillary Clinton takes shots at herself on ‘SNL’ premiere appearance
Clinton played a bartender named Val who keeps the glasses full for Kate McKinnon’s depressed Clinton character. (Except the singing part which was really awkward, and I didn’t want to say that because it seems inconsequential, but I just couldn’t help it after all so I buried it down here.) Done and done.
The original Clinton was also seen to exhibit her best Donald Trump impression, which she’s known to do on the trail from time to time. “Isn’t he the one that’s like ‘Oh, you’re all losers?'”. And that big, weed-loving, clothes-shunning personality is often the source of controversary – but that Miley was mostly absent for the season 41 premiere of SNL, which marked the third time the musician’s hosted since her first time around in 2011. “Fair point”, nods the real Clinton.
“This has been so nice”, McKinnon’s Clinton said. “They’re multiplying!” before running out of the fake Brooklyn bar.
Hillary Clinton Bar Talk Having politicians on the show is a double-edged sword: As a satirical entity, it’s the show’s duty to mock those in power. The National Education Association that has more than 3 million members announced its support for Hillary Clinton.
And it wouldn’t be a Trump bit without a Megyn Kelly joke.
Another hilarious sketch included Donald and Melania Trump, played by Taran Killam and Cecily Strong.
The skit was an opportunity for Clinton to rejuvenate her campaign. And, she lets her hair down for a sing-a-long. She later intruded on Lenny Kravitz’s junk as well.
And she’s certainly right about one thing. She also said that she loved impersonations of her first by Amy Poehler and later by Kate McKinnon. So she did what any political hopeful would do when faced with trying to up their popularity factor: Appear on “Saturday Night Live”. He wasn’t making any sense. It acknowledges a mistake (in a way that’s far more believable and effective than your usual my major failing is that I sometimes work too hard for America faux-self-effacement).
The faux trailer for The Squad portrayed a couple of best friends who promise to be besties forever before they get into a bad auto accident.
