Facebook partners with Nasscom’s 10000 start-ups
It aims to enable funding, acceleration, incubation support to tech startups over next ten years. This program will help developers and students who are building large-scale innovative apps and mobile websites for new-to-internet users by providing them with technical & financial support and resources. They will also have access to startup incubators, accelerators, investors, mentors and technology corporations.
Under the six-month “Next Billion Programme”, Nasscom 10,000 Startups would select 10 developers who demonstrated exceptional commitment to build applications for new-to-internet populations. Under the 6-month proposal, the applicants will receive technical, marketing and financial support to build their start-up idea.
Successful candidates of the Next Billion project qualify for the opportunity to get $80000 worth of support from the Facebook FbStart scheme, in addition to ad credits to bolster their business.
Nasscom added: “They will further be connected to industry leaders like CEOs, thought leaders, VCs, ecosystem evangelists, social change leaders, funders and the media to bring public attention to their commitment, solutions and impact such that they inspire many other developers to build innovative solutions for new-to-internet users”.
However, the Next Billion Programme is expected to push Nasscom 10,000 introduce initiative which would be focusing to develop, fund and offer support to 10,000 technology startups which are expected to be launching by 2023 in the Indian market.
For the programme 4 students will be selected from each of the 10-15 colleges through the application process and will build the relevant mobile apps.
The website will be updated with the application and program details by 31st of October and applications will be due by 30th of December.
