Google Debuts Cardboard App, Cardboard Support for Street View
Although Google debut the features at Google I/O, they were made generally available only yesterday. Hackers are now offering apps by repackaging icons to pass them off as popular titles and encourage users to download them from websites with pop-up ads and in app promotions. With downloads ranging in between 5,00,000 and 10,00,000, the app is pretty much helpful to plan your travel and book the railway tickets on the go.
Android has been far ahead of Apple in device sales for a while now, but revenue continues to be a sore point for the Google Play store, still trailing far behind its rival. That said, you can always back them up yourself to your Google Drive account and download said data later whenever you need it.
Google is getting serious about its Cardboard VR initiative, at least on the trademark front: The company has removed a number of apps over the use of the Cardboard moniker this week, informing developers that their listings violated Google Play’s content policy.
Perhaps the most important news is new updates to the Google Cardboard software development kits (SDKs) for both Android and the Unity development engine. Worldwide downloads on Google Play were about 90 percent higher than in the iOS App Store in the third quarter of 2015, up from an 85 percent lead in the second quarter.
