Hack/Slash TV Series In The Works
Relativity are apparently intending a series on the stronger side, taking The Walking Dead as a touchstone (although there’s obviously a bit of a Buffy vibe too), suggesting that a home that allows for a few extreme violence is in order. She now travels the U.S., in various states of undress, hunting and killing slashers, backed up by the mysterious thug Vlad, who wears a gas mask and carries meat cleavers as his weapon of choice.
They’ve hired veteran screenwriter Skip Woods (Swordfish, A Good Day to Die Hard) to pen the script. He’ll serve as an Executive Producer on the show, along with Adrian Askarieh and Ray Ricord. It was reported that it will be produced by the production’s company, Relativity Media. Several talents have come and gone over the years, including writers Justin Marks (Disney’s upcoming The Jungle Book) and Stephen Susco (The Grudge) and directors Marcus Nispel (of the Friday the 13th remake), Fredrik Bond (Charlie Countryman), and Todd Lincoln (The Apparition). It is created and written by Tim Seeley and Stefano Caselli. It will now join the roster of the publisher’s successfully adapted comic books series including AMC’s “The Walking Dead” by Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore. In a deconstruction and defiance of horror movie tropes and clichés, it’s this mini-skirt wearing girl who hunts down the slashers that would normally prey on teenagers. But now, the emotionally damaged girl not only survived but has become a killer of killers. Actually, Dexter once showed up in a crossover with Cassie and Vlad, along with Jason Voorhees.
