STAGE TUBE: Broadway’s SCHOOL OF ROCK Unveils Interactive 360 Degree Music Video!
Composer and producer Andrew Lloyd Webber has released a music video for “You’re in the Band”, a number from his upcoming Broadway show School of Rock – The Musical. The video, was designed by Andrew Lloyd Webber and School of Rock book writer Julian Fellowes to take full advantage of new 360° technology and allows you to navigate all angles of the classroom for an exciting and immersive experience of the song. “So it was a great experiment, we had a very good, fun day filming it”, said Webber.
Viewers can choose to follow Finn as he runs around the real New York City schoolroom singing at the students, or simply turn the camera up to the ceiling for a lyric video complete with guitar chords. “You have to stage not only for what’s going on behind you, in front of you, around you, but above you and below you”. It is best viewed on YouTube or Facebook – on mobile using the latest version of each app; and on desktop using the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox or Opera browsers.
The musical, like the movie, is about Finn, a struggling musician who impersonates his roommate in order to take a long-term substitute teaching position at a high school.
“The show will begin previews in November and is set to open on December and will feature songs from the film and new music by Webber, and a book by, the creator of the acclaimed period television drama “. Check out the School of Rock – The Musical site for ticket information.
