Mother who triggered Amber Alert arrested
Massachusetts State Police in Boston arrested a woman Saturday morning who allegedly fled Pennsylvania will her sick infant son, triggering an amber alert.
The Amber Alert was issued around 1:45 a.m. Saturday for 36-year-old Tiffany Cherry and her 2-month-old son, Quavai. She is believed to be approximately 5 feet, 5 inches tall with a large build. According to police in Pennsylvania, she fled that state with her 2 1/2-month-old son, Quavai Cherry (date of birth 7/25/15).
About two hours after the alert was issued, Cherry was taken into custody by Boston Police.
Having just received the Amber Alert, a nurse recognized the boy she had just checked into the hospital and called the police.
The State Police said they are awaiting photographs of Tiffany and Qavai Cherry from Pennsylvania authorities.
Information collected earlier Friday night suggested she may be in the Waltham area.
Tiffany Cherry was arrested on three warrants out of Massachusetts, in addition to a felony warrant out of Pennsylvania that accuses her of endangering the welfare of a child and recklessly endangering another person.
